Welcome to Plainfield , Indiana !

Plainfield is a vibrant, growing community of 28,000 residents. Our growth can be attributed to a variety of factors, most importantly:

Quality of Life – Plainfield residents enjoy all the amenities of modern suburban life including a regional shopping mall with a multitude of retail and dining experiences; more than 480 acres of parkland; a network of more than 20 miles of hiking and biking trails that incorporate the entire town; and a recreation center that includes three full basketball/volleyball courts, a large fitness facility, and indoor and outdoor aquatics centers.
Highly Regarded Schools – The Town of Plainfield encompasses neighborhoods that cover three different public school systems: Plainfield , Avon , and Mill Creek. All three school corporations are well-regarded for providing excellent educational opportunities.

The vast majority of the Town, however, is in Guilford Township , which is home to the Plainfield Community School Corporation. Plainfield has received state-wide and national attention for its dedication to excellence, and its schools are routinely ranked as Four Star Schools, the highest honor given by the state of Indiana . Plus, the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce has repeatedly scored Plainfield High School as a ‘best buy’ school, meaning students receive an excellent education at a price fair to taxpayers. In its most recent rankings, the Chamber rated Plainfield one of the top five high schools in the state.

Plainfield is also the home of St. Susanna Catholic School, a parochial elementary grade school that is well-respected for its academic excellence. In addition, there are many other private schools in the area that cater to parents who would prefer to have their children educated in smaller settings.

Employment Opportunities – Plainfield has experienced explosive economic growth as the town has become known as a preferred location for local and national companies to locate their manufacturing and distribution facilities.
Excellent location – Plainfield residents have dual interchange access to interstate I-70, a simple five minute drive to Indianapolis International Airport , and a short fifteen minute commute to downtown Indianapolis . All the amenities of a large metropolitan city, like professional sports, entertainment, and first class medical facilities, are an easy ride away.
